We had a busy Labor Day week end. And in a way we thought if we kept extra busy perhaps it would put me in labor.
We hit the weekend with Justin coming home early from school Friday and heading out to Geauga County Fair. We love going each year. It is a little taste of home when the Blackfoot fair comes to town. We went and looked at all the animals; the pigs, horses, sheep, cows, and all the good stuff. The girls got to pick one ride. The chose a little dragon roller coaster. I wish I had my camera because it was priceless. Lily was scared spitless. She went around two times then the controller guy stopped it for her. Daisy stayed on for a few more time, but she was so scared too. Every time she passed the guy she would try to tell him to stop. I was busting gut.
Then Saturday we went out to Kirkland to see one of the girls in our ward, Kaytlin Ellsworth, get baptized. This was very neat. She wanted to get baptized in the river behind the church to be like to early saints in Kirkland. Daisy was so funny. We said, "Wouldn't that be cool to get baptized in the river. " Daisy, "Well, I don't want to get baptized in muddy water."
We then headed to a polo game. We have been wanting to go to one forever (ever since we pasted the field our first year out here on our way to the fair). We finally were able to go. It was supposed to start at 1:00, but didn't end up starting until 2:30. So in the mean time we laid in the grass and played in the river.
When the polo game finally started we were pretty tuckered out. The kids were about ready to go, so we only stayed for half the game. But it was very interesting to watch. Each player has probably 3-6 horses because the run so much it wears the horses out. The game is divided into
6 chuckers which last 6 minutes. This is so they can switch out the horses.
They have a hard ball that stays on the ground and each player has a mallet. They chase after the ball and try to make it in the goal. Sometimes they can get crazy. The horses can get hit, one player was drug off the horse because his mallet got stuff in another horses tail, another player broke his mallet going after the ball at the same time as another player. It was fun.
That night we had a PSio Dental dinner we went to. We had a great steak dinner, visited with friends and did a little exploring outside. Makes for a busy day.
Sunday we went to church then decided to go over to the polo game again since it was pretty close and it didn't cost anything. We watched two chuckers then the girls were ready to go home.
Monday Justin had school off so we headed out to Geauga Lake for one last time. We have thoroughly enjoyed our time there as you see from the post above. With all this activity I'm still here not in labor for Labor day. But this was a great week end. Hope yours was just as fun.
